Wyatt uses 3/4 gallon of paint two identical, dog houses. Wyatt has 5 1/2 gallons of paint. Assuming that the dog houses are identical, how many dog houses in all can wyatt paint with 5 1/2 gallons of paint?

    Divide 5 1/2, or 11/2 by 3/4. You can do that by multiplying 11/2 and 4/3 to get 44/6. Simplify and you get 22/3, which is about 7.33 or 7 1/3. If he can only paint whole dog houses, the answer is 7.
