    Because all of the numbers are multiples of 3, we can divide all by - 3:

    2x - 2 = - 4x + 2

    6x = 4

    x = 4/6

    Simplify:

    x = 2/3

    -3 (2x - 2) = 12x-6 - 6x+6=12x-6 6=18x-6 12=18x 2/3=x
