    Marcus sold 8 cups of lemonade

    Step-by-step explanation:

    we are going to make 2 equations, one that indicates the relationship of lemonades with peanuts and another for the price

    x = amount of lemonade

    y = amount ofpeanut

    x = y + 5

    x * 0.75 + y * 0.35 = 7.05

    we replace the x with (y + 5) in the second equation

    x * 0.75 + y * 0.35 = 7.05

    (y + 5) * 0.75 + y * 0.35 = 7.05

    now we solve by clearing y

    (y + 5) * 0.75 + y * 0.35 = 7.05

    0.75y + 3.75 + 0.35y = 7.05

    0.75y + 0.35y = 7.05 - 3.75

    1.10y = 3.30

    y = 3.30/1.10

    y = 3

    we replace the y in the first equation and get x

    x = y + 5

    x = 3 + 5

    x = 8
