    7+3d-5=-1+2d-12+1d

    Collect like terms on the right side of the equation:

    -1 and - 12 make - 13

    2d and 1d make 3d

    Do the same on the left side:

    7 and - 5 make 2

    So now the equation looks like this:

    3d+2=3d-13

    Bring 3d to the other side by subtracting it from both sides (doing the opposite)

    (3d+2) - 3d=-13 (3d cancels itself out)

    3d+2-3d=-13

    Collect like terms:

    3d and - 3d make a 0 pair

    Equation now looks like this:

    2=-13

    Finish by subtracting 2 from both sides:

    2-2=-13-2

    0=-15

    So do the like terms first

    lets start with the left side

    7-5 = 2

    so itd turn into 2+3d = 1+2d-12+d

    now combine like terms on the right side

    2+3d = - 11 + d

    now subtract d from both sides

    2+2d=11

    now subtract 2 from both sides

    2d=9

    now divide 2 by 9

    d = 4.5
