Find the amount of water in 36 pounds of fresh strawberries.

    80% of 36 pounds of fresh strawberries = 80/100 * 36 = 28.8 pounds of water. The amount of non water elements = 36 - 28.8 = 7.2 pounds

Now you dry them and the weight they have is 20% more than the 7.2 pounds (nothing happened to them).

    20% of 7.2 = 1.44 pounds of water.

Total mass left after drying = 7.2 + 1.44 = 8.64 pounds of dried raspberries

    Note

the question is a bit ambiguous. It is not totally clear what is meant by the 20%. I took it to mean 20% of the final mass which wasn't changed by the drying process.

    80% water = 36 lbs fresh berries

    1 % water = 36 : 80 = 0.45 lb

    20% water = 0.45 x 20 = 9 lbs

Answer: You will get 9 lbs of raspberry.
