    Like terms are 6x and 7x, 8 and 21 are like terms

    subtract 8 from both sides, to make both sets of like terms on opposite sides

    6x+7x=21-8

    13x=13

    x=1

    You add the one with the variables then subtract the one without the variables to 21 and divide that by the number with the variables and that’s what equals X
