X=14+2y

X+3y=9

X=9-3y

14+2y=9-3y. (+3y)

14+5y=9. (-14)

Y=-1

X - (2x-1) = 14

X--2=14

X+2=14

X=12

X + (3x-1) = 9

X+-3=9

X-3=9

X=12

Therefore X is equal to 12
