By dividing 174 by 12, you find the real car is 14.5 feet long. If the scale model used a scale of 1 in:1 ft, the model would be 14.5 inches long.

    scale factor is

    1 inch - > 1 foot

    174 inch - > 174 * 1 = 174 feet

so length of scaled model of car would be 174 feet
