A box contains five plain pencils and three pens. The second box contains three colored pencils and three crayons. One item for each box is chosen at random. What is the probability the plane from Pencil from the first box and a colored pencil from second box are selected

    Answer: What is the probability of choosing a pen from the first box? It is 5/8.

    What is the probability of selecting a crayon from the second box? It is 3/12 = 1/4.
