A ball is dropped from 256 feet above the ground. It bounces 1/4 as high as it fell. This is true for each successive bounce. What height will the ball reach on the third bounce?

    On the third bounce, it will bounce (1/4) * (1/4) * (1/4) = (1/4) ^3 times as high.

    This means it will bounce up to 256*1/64 = 4 feet high.
