Susan has a collection of 91 nickels and dimes. if the number of nickels is six times the number of dimes, how many nickels and how many dimes does she have?

    X = dimes

    6x = nickels

    x + 6x = 91

    7x = 91

    x = 91/7 = 13

    13 dimes and 78 nickels

    Number dimes - x

    number nickels - 6x

    altogether x+6x=7x

    7x=91

    x=91/7=13

    so number dimes - 13

    number nicles 6*13 - 78
