Suppose x is the total cost for the first purchase, cost of the bread = b and cost of the milk = m

Then:-

y = 5b + 2m

y - 4.2 = 2b + 5m

Subtract:-

4.2 = 3b - 3m

b - m = 4.2 / 3 = 1.4

That is bread costs $1.40 more than the milk. (Answer). Its A
