A water tank holds 24000 gallons. How many hours will it take for 2/3 of the water to be used if the water is used at a constant rate of 650 gallons per day? Write an equation first to use to answer the problem.

    24000/3=8000

    8000 = 1/3

    8000*2=16000

    16000 = 2/3

    16000/650 = 24.6 days

    24*24=576+6=582 hours

    it would take 582 hours before 2/3 of the water is used.
