    23/60

    Step-by-step explanation:

    From the question, back splash was made and its a mixture of 5 inch tiles. One quarter of tiles will be Indian red, one sixth will be Tuscan blue and one fifth will be fucalyptus and the rest is made of sand.

    What we have to do so as to get the fraction of the sand will be to add up the fractions of the others and subtract it from one.

    Indian red is 1/4

    Tuscan blue will be 1/6

    Eucalyptus is 1/5

    The rest is sand in? Fraction

    Sum of these fractions will be:

    1/6 + 1/4 + 1/5 = (10+15+12) / 60

    = 37/60.

    Fraction of sand will be

    1 - (37/60)

    = 23/60

    23/60

    Step-by-step explanation:

    All fractions of tiles, when summed up, need to be 1

    Indian red is 1/4 of the tiles

    Tuscan blue is 1/6 of the tiles

    Fucalyptus is 1/5 of the tiles

    Sand is X of the tiles (X is the fraction we want to know)

    So, we can formulate the equation:

    1/4 + 1/6 + 1/5 + X = 1

    applying LCM, we have:

    (15 + 10 + 12 + 60X) = 60

    60X = 23

    X = 23/60
