    The sixth-graders raised $108 more than the seventh graders

    Step-by-step explanation:

    The total amount raised by both the sixth-graders and seventh-graders can be expressed as;

    Total amount raised=amount raised by sixth graders (x) + amount raised by seventh graders (y)

    where;

    Amount raised by sixth graders=x

    Amount raised by seventh graders=y

    Amount raised by sixth graders in the end=2*y=2 y

    Total amount raised=$324

    Replacing;

    324=2 y+y

    3 y=324

    y=324/3

    y=108

    Total amount raised by the seventh graders=y=108

    Total amount raised by sixth graders=2 y = (2*108) = 216

    Amount raised more by sixth graders than seventh graders=Amount raised by sixth graders-amount raised by seventh graders

    where;

    Amount raised by sixth graders=$216

    Amount raised by seventh graders=$108

    Replacing;

    Amount raised more by sixth graders than seventh graders = (216-108) = 108

    The sixth-graders raised $108 more than the seventh graders
