    s=-3

    10-s=? Substitute s:

    10 - (-3) = 10+3=13

    10-s=13

    Answer: 13

    When you replace s with - 3, it is 10--3. One is negative and one is positive, so you make - - (subtract negative) into a + (plus add). So 10+3=13
