    Convert all to inches

    note:

    1ft=12in

    1yd=36in

    90 inches=90 in

    4.5ft=12*4.5=54in

    2.5yd=2.5*36=90in

    add

    90+54+90=234in

    divide by 36 to get rid of yards

    6.5yds

    6 yards and 0.5 yards left over

    1yard=3ft

    0.5yd=1.5ft

    1ft and 0.5 left over

    0.5 times 12=6

    6yards, 1 ft, 6 inches
