The perimeter of a rectangle is 34 inches. if the length is 2 inches more than twice the width, find the length and the width of the rectangle

    Let the width of the rectangle be x. so length is 2+2x.

    x + (2 + 2x) = 34

    3x = 32

    x = 10.6

    width = 10.6 inches

    length = 2 + 2 (10.6) = 2 + 21.2 = 23.2 inches
