Arlo works at a paint store. A formula for a certain color calls for 3/5 L of green paint. Arlo wants to make 1/3 less paint than the formula creates. How much green paint should Arlo use? Express your answer as a fraction in simplest form.

    If he wants to make 1/3 less then he wants to make 2/3 of the formula

    so (F = formula)

    if 3/5L = F

    and you want to find how much L is in 2/3 then you take

    3/5L (2/3) = F (2/3)

    you get 6/18L = 2/3F which can be simplified as 1/3 L = 2/3 F
