7/12 is greater than 1/3 but less than 2/3.

in order to find if this is true, you need to find the common denominator which is 12. in order for 1/3 to have a denominator of 12, you need to multiply by 4. but we all know the rule. whatever we do to the bottom needs to be done to the top, so 1/3 is = 4/12. 7/12 is greater than 4/12. we do the same to 2/3 and multiply the denominator by 4 and the numerator by 4 as well, and the result would be 8/12. if we compare, 7/12 is less than 8/12.
