Peter rolls 2 fair dice and adds the results from each. Work out the probability of getting a total more than 11.

    only one term it can reach 12. when the 1st dice give 6 and the 2nd give it too.

    so there only one of 36

    so the probability is 1/36

    note 36 is from the table of 2 dice rolling together

    (1,1) (1,2) (1,3) (1,4) (1,5) (1,6)

    (2,1) (2,2) (2,3) and so on

    until ... (6,6)

    it's all 36
