    The 3% decrease causes the population to be 1 - 0.03 = 0.97 of what it was the previous year.

    f (x) = 900 (0.97) ^x

    after 8 years, x = 8

    f (8) = 900 (0.97) ^8

    f (8) = 705 deer left
