The lengths of the sides of a quadrilateral are consecutive even integers. twice the length of the shortest side plus the length of the longest side is 248 inches. find the length of the longest side.

    1. You have the following information given in the problem above: twice the length of the shortest side plus the length of the longest side is 248 inches.

    2. Therefore, keeping on mind the information above, you have:

    x: the shortest side

    x+6: the longest side

    2x + (x+6) = 248

    3x+6=248

    3x=242

    x=242/3

    x=80.66 (The shortest side)

    x+6=80.66+6=86.66 (The longest side)

    The answer is: 86.66
