What is the equation of the line that passes through (-1, 5) and (3, - 7) ?

y = 3x - 2

y = - 6x - 3

y = - 3x + 2

y = - 6x + 3

    One way to answer this is by plugging in x=-1 and x=3 for each equation. For the third one (the correct one), plugging in x=-1 gives a result of y=5, and plugging in x=3 gives a result of y=-7.
