What are the solutions of the equation x4 + 3x2 + 2 = 0? Use u substitution to solve.

    4x + (3x2) + 2=0

    (3x2) + 2 = 8

    Subtract 8 on both sides of equation.

    4x = - 8

    Divide by 4 on both sides and your answer will be: x = - 2
