Lauren made 15 cups of lemonade by mixing lemon juice and sugar water. The ratio of lemon juice to sugar water is 2 : 3. How many cups of lemon juice are in the lemonade?

    The ratio L:S=2:3 means that the total can be broken down into a multiple of 2+3=5

    15/5=3 meaning each part is equal to three. So in 15 cups of lemonade there is 2*3=6 cups of lemon juice and 3*3=9 cups of sugar water.
