Explain the law of conservation of mass.

When wood burns, it releases heat and turns into ashes. When the ashes are weighed, they are significantly lower than that of the wood. How is this possible in terms of the law of conservation of mass?

    Well, you'd probably heard about the 3 state of matter wh9ch are obviously gas, liquid and solid. The thing is when the wood was burned it was a chemical change, meaning it changes into something new or something else. For instance in this case wood changed to ashes probably some part of it changed to gas, so if we are weigh the ashes and the gas it will give you the initial weight of the wood
