    V = mv/M ... Equation 2

    Given: m = 10 kg, v = 50 m/s, M = 1000 kg

    Substitute into equation 2

    V = 10*50/1000

    V = 500/1000

    V = 0.5 m/s

    Hence the speed of the flatcar = 0.5 m/s
