How many amps does a 100-watt light bulb draw?

    Power = (current) x (voltage)

    Current = power/voltage

    - - If the 100-watt bulb is operating on 240 volts, then

    current = (100/240) = 5/12 of 1 Amp.

    - - If the 100-watt bulb is operating on 120 volts, then

    current = (100/120) = 5/6 of 1 Amp.
