When a 1.0 kg cart moving with a speed of 0.5 m/s on a horizontal surface collides with a second 1.0 kg cart initially at rest, the carts lock together. What is the speed of the combined carts after the collision?

    M1u1 + m2u2 = mV

    1*0.5 + 1*0 = 2*V

    V=0.5/2 = 0.25ms-1
