    The force that is acting upon the plane is simply force due to gravity. To solve, we use Newtons first law:

    F = m a

    where m is mass of the object, a is acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s^2

    Calculating for F:

    F = 140,000 kg * 9.8 m/s^2

    F = 1,372,000 N
