For Solid state, particles are packed closely together and the particles can only vibrate about fixed positions. The particles in a solid state are held by strong intermolecular forces of attraction.
For liquid state, particles are loosely packed and the particles can slide through each other.
For gaseous state, particles are randomly packed in a disorderly manner and the particles are moving at high speed.
