The particles keeps on moving when a substances gains energy and changes state.

IF the particles undergoes solid to liquid to gas state, the particles within it moves from being slow to faster and faster. Because as we all know that the particles of solid is more compressed compare to the gas which is more apart from each other.

In the other way around, if a substance undergo from gas to liquid to solid, the particles move from faster going slower and slower.
