When white light is passed through a clear, untinted glass prism,

a tiny bit of the light is reflected back to its source, and a tiny bit

of the light is absorbed inside the prism and never seen or heard

    from again.

The majority of the light is dispersed, and comes out of the prism

spread out into all of the infinite colors of the visible light spectrum.
