Magnetic field is defines as an area in which effect of magnetism can be felt. It is produced only a moving charge or particle and is of two types:

    Permanent

    Temporary

Permanent magnets are found in nature and have magnetic dipoles in them which are in constant motion and hence shows a strong magnetic character whereas temporary magnetic field can be generated by a current carrying material. When current flows through a material, its moving particles produces a magnetic field which stays until the current is passing or particles are in motion. A stationary particle can never generate a magnetic field.
