If a car is traveling eastward, can its acceleration be westward? Explain your answer, and use an example in your explanation.

    Explanation:

    A car is traveling eastward can have its acceleration be westward. In this case its acceleration (or deceleration) would decrease its eastern velocity. So the car would still be traveling eastward at a slowing speed. Example for this would be when you jam on the brake at a high speed. Your car would still be moving forward, but at a slowing rate.
