You and a friend each drive 53 km to the same destination. You travel at 88.8 km/h and your friend at 92.6 km/h. How long will your friend wait for you at the end of the trip?

    Explanation:

    The time it takes for you to drive a distance of 53km at 88.8 km/h is

    t = s/v = 53 / 88.8 = 0.5968 hours

    Similarly the time it takes for your friend to drive a distance of 53km at 92.6 km/h is

    53 / 92.6 = 0.572 hours

    Obviously since it takes less time for your friend, he will arrive first if both of you start at the same time. His waiting time would be

    0.5968 - 0.572 = 0.0245 hours or 0.0245 * 60 = 1.5 minutes
