A pendulum has a period of. 80s on Earth. What is its period on Mars, where the acceleration of gravity is about 0.37 that on Earth?

    From the given, the acceleration due to gravity of Mars is equal to 3.626 m/s². The period of an oscillating object is calculated through the equation,

    T = 2π (sqrt of L/g)

    Developing a ratio and proportion for the two planets,

    T1 / T2 = 0.80 s / T2 = sqrt g2 / sqrt g1

    The value of T2 is equal to 1.31. Therefore, the period of the pendulum in Mars is equal to 1.31 s.
