Every fraction is a short way to write a division problem.
A fraction means:
"the numerator (top number) divided by the denominator (bottom number) ".
When you actually do the division, using a pencil or a calculator,
the quotient you get is the decimal form of the fraction.

To convert a fraction to a decimal on your own, you must first find a number you can multiply by the bottom of the fraction to make it 10, 100, 1000, or, really anything starting with 1 and followed completely by 0's. After doing this, multiply the top and the bottom by the number.
