A train is moving at 35 m/s to the east. it speeds up to 42 m/s east over the course of 40 seconds. what was trains acceleration

    Acceleration = (change in speed) / (time for the change)

    Change in speed = (42 - 35) = 7 m/s

    Time for the change = 40 sec

    Acceleration = (7 m/s) / (40sec) = 7/40 = 0.175 m/s²
