    When the body has mass m

    The force on a body is given as

    F=ma

    a=F/m

    Then,

    When you the mass is quadruple

    i. e M=4m.

    Then, let assume you are applying the same force

    Then, using F=Ma

    F=4ma

    a=F/4m

    This shows that the acceleration is reduced by quarter it former values.
