An ice cube (solid water) floats in liquid water. Explain this in terms of density and buoyant force.

    Water is a very weird material. It is one of the only materials that expends when it freezes. If it expends, the density gets lower. And since ice and water are the same material, and ice has a lower density than normal water, it floats on water. Just ask if you need more explaination.
