    The heat of fusion is the heat required by a substance to change its state from solid to liquid. Water exist in three states which are ice, liquid water and steam. The heat of fusion of ice is that amount of heat that must be absorbed by ice in other for it to melt to liquid water. Other types of heat related to heat of fusion are heat of vaporization, latent heat.
