Vf2 = vi2 + 2ad solve for vi

    Permit me to re write the equation as:

    v² = u² + 2ad Where v = vf, and vi = u

    v² - 2ad = u²

    u² = v² - 2ad Take square root of both sides

    √u² = √ (v² - 2ad)

    u = √ (v² - 2ad)

    Vi = √ (Vf² - 2ad)
