    The best answer to the question above would be letter A. All species that were mentioned in the choices were capable of equivalent complex behaviors. The Australopithecus africanus probably used simple tools (which is an indication of complex behavior) such as sticks for hunting. The erectus and neanderthalensis developed more advanced use of tools.
