    Normal Fault

    Solution:

    Normal fault is one in which the hanging wall moves down in relation to the foot wall.

    Normal fault is caused as a result of the extension of the crust and hence are also referred to as extensional faults.

    Earthquakes are caused as a result of the movement along the faults.

    Tensional stress is caused when we pull apart the slab of rocks from one other which results in normal faults.
