    160 nails

    Explanation:

from the question we are given the following

mass of container and nails = 3.0 lb

mass of a dozen nails = 0.225 lb

    number of nails = ?

we first have to find how many dozen of nails are in the container.

number of dozen = mass of container and nails / mass of a dozen nails

    number of dozen = 3 / 0.225

number of dozen = 13.33 dozens

now since 12 nails make a dozen nails, we just have to multiply 13.33 by 12

    number of nails = 13.33 x 12 = 160 nails
