What is the centripetal acceleration of a jet making a turn with a radius of 1.00km at a speed of 343 m/s

343 m/s ^2

3.43 m/s^2

1.18 x 10^2 m/s^2

    r = radius of turn being made by the jet = 1.00 km = 1000 m (since 1 km = 1000 m)

    v = speed of the jet making the turn = 343 m/s

    a = centripetal acceleration of the jet making the turn

    centripetal acceleration is given as

    a = v²/r

    so centripetal acceleration jet is hence given as

    a = v²/r

    inserting the values

    a = v²/r

    a = (343) ²/1000

    a = 1.18 x 10² m/s²
