Frequency and period are inversely related quantities.
Explanation:
The frequency of a wave shows how often the particles of the medium vibrate when a wave passes through the medium. The period of a wave is the time for a particle on a medium to make one complete vibration cycle.
Frequency = 1/period
Period = 1/frequency
