What does the slope of gravitational potential energy vs velocity^2 graph represent?

    Mechanical energy (the sum of potential and kinetic energy) is constant:

    ME = PE + KE

    ME = PE + ½ mv²

    PE = ME - ½ mv²

    So the slope of the line is - ½ of the mass.
